New Resource
Empowering parents and carers through Off the Record's unique programme
Prospect School is pleased to share information about the ‘You First’ programme, an insightful initiative run by Off the Record, designed specifically for parents and carers. Starting this January, this programme offers a unique approach to support and empower those in caregiving roles.
About the Programme
The ‘You First’ programme is an eight-week course facilitated by professional counsellors from Off the Record. It combines psychoeducation, coaching, and practical parenting tools with a supportive listening environment. The programme also provides an opportunity for parents and carers to engage with a community of individuals sharing similar experiences.
Flexible Session Timings
To accommodate different schedules, the programme is available in morning and evening sessions, ensuring greater accessibility for all interested parents and carers.
How to Join
Joining the programme is straightforward. Interested individuals can self-refer by visiting the Off the Record website at OTR South, selecting ‘self-refer’, and then choosing ‘group work’.
Participant Experiences
Feedback from previous participants highlights the programme’s positive impact:
“At the beginning of the course, I felt very alone and judged. I felt every door was closed to me and my family and no-one would help us. Now I feel more connected with my child, I understand them better. I also understand myself more and am kinder to myself.”
