Taking pride in what we do during Pride Month
As you may know, June is internationally recognised as Pride Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and promoting inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance. We are proud of how this aligns with our values and ethos.
At Prospect School, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all our students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We firmly believe in fostering an atmosphere where every individual feels valued, respected, and celebrated for who they are.
In recognition of Pride Month, we want to take this opportunity to emphasise our ongoing commitment to promoting equality, respect, and understanding among our student body. Throughout the month we will be including relevant topics as part of our lessons and we encourage you to engage with your child in conversations around the importance of acceptance, empathy, and celebrating diversity.
We hope our students can develop an understanding of LGBTQ+ history, rights, and the challenges faced by the community. We encourage parents and carers to have age-appropriate discussions with their children to foster their awareness and empathy towards others. By actively engaging in these conversations at home, we can collectively contribute to a more inclusive and accepting society.
At Prospect School, we understand the significance of creating an environment where all students feel seen, accepted, and supported. We want to ensure that every student can thrive and be proud of their authentic selves. Should your child need any support or have questions regarding LGBTQ+ topics, our school tutors and pastoral team are available to provide guidance and assistance.
We value your partnership in nurturing the growth and well-being of our students. By working together, we can continue to foster a culture of inclusivity and acceptance at Prospect School. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
